An Available Man

After Edward Schuyler’s wife dies, the middle-aged science teacher finds himself ambushed by well-meaning friends trying to set him up, widows seeking love—even married neighbors! The thing is, Edward isn’t available. He’s still mourning his beloved Bee. But everything changes when unbeknownst to Edward his stepkids place an ad on behalf of “Science Guy” in The New York Review of Books. As letters begin flowing in, Edward succumbs to a sudden longing for connection and takes a reluctant plunge into the dating pool. The results? Well, let’s just say that award-winning author Hilma Wolitzer brings more than a modicum of humor to An Available Man, a tender, uplifting novel about how love has a way of arriving when it’s least expected.

Thoroughly enjoyed the book from beginning to end, It was all about real life situations , most of which were turned into some humor. Light romance without the violence you find in so many books.
