Not your typical "fast read"

Warning: Do not start this book on a 50-minute plane ride! Eco's new "masterpiece" is painted with the typical 19th century, 10-line sentence. Philosophy and psych majors will eat this baby up because the narrator is one, really-twisted hate criminal. I was somewhat disappointed that Eco's latest hasn't the 'whodunnit" flavor of The Name of the Rose, but I was fascinated by the lengths to which Simone Simonini's split personalities will go in their quest to spread the bigoted conspiracies that were quite "true" during the historical period of this novel. Not at all my idea of a "fun read", but, nonetheless, intriguing.
