One page into Shockaholic and you’ll recognize the same razor-sharp wit and uproarious wisdom that made Carrie Fisher’s Wishful Drinking a slam-dunk New York Times bestseller. This time out, though, Fisher writes with heart about the loss of her beloved father, whose serial dating—and marrying—made Elizabeth Taylor her stepmother, if only for a brief time. And then there’s her friendship with Michael Jackson, a dinner date with Ted Kennedy—and the sparring match that ensued—and much more! From bouts with substance abuse to treatment for emotional issues that include electroconvulsive shock therapy, Carrie Fisher softens her trademark humor with moments of pure grace in this contemplative and ultimately tender book.

Definitely not Carrie's best memoir. Mainly a rehash of stories told in Wishful Drinking and other books. Typeface is huge- you can read it in one sitting. I would definitely pass or wait until it is out on paperback.
