more info than you'd ever want to know

I can't believe how much information has been packed into this book. I bought it for my daughter but my husband and I both had to check it out. I know she'll find some very useful facts for reports that she'll be writing for college.

MUST have reference
February 22, 2010

I a big believer in having information at your fingertips. The internet is a wonderful medium as a tool for getting instant information. The Almanac is no different. I have been a yearly buyer of the Almanac since the 70s... when my grandfather first brought my first one to me as a gift as a teen. The Almanac offers some of the most telling information on a variety of subjects: Politics, Sports, Elections, Religion, etc. As much as the internet is appealing in getting this same information, the Almanac offers it to you in a little less clutter and a lot less detail, yet comprehensive enough to use in your personal research, papers you write or just purusing the sports area. And speaking of sports, this area alone is a boon for the sports buff who has always wondered who has won all the Super Bowls since its inception or how about all the World Series or even all the NBA Finals. This section of sports is one of my personal favorites. Lots of information down to all the stadiums, fields and other assorted information about your favorite sport. I love it! I highly recommend the Almanac for those casual readers, as you could just sit with it for an hour or so just looking at all the info to those who just need to have a solid reference book at hand, especially when the internet is down. The print may be a little small, but then again, it has always been this way since I can remember. It may be a drawback for some but then again, if this is the only drawback, the price of the book is priceless! Get it.
