Retirement? Not in the cards for U.S. government operative Cotton Malone when, in Steve Berry’s The Paris Vendetta, he’s drawn into his most perilous adventure yet!
When a so-called American Secret Service agent breaks into Malone’s Copenhagen bookshop, he’s skeptical of the man’s claim that he’s on the run from assassins…at first. But after they barely survive a ferocious shootout, Malone brings his anxious new partner to see tycoon Henrik Thorvaldsen, who tells them of The Paris Club, a cabal of ruthless men seeking to control the global economy. Can Malone avert international anarchy? He’ll have to stop a murderous terrorist-for-hire first, then foil a catastrophic attack, and uncover a lost treasure. So much for retirement….

I enjoy the Steve Berry stories but this was a bit disappointing at the start. I was about to put it down but decided to read on and was truly surprised as how the pace began to pick up and the story became very interesting.
