206 Bones

From Déjà Dead to Break No Bones, fans just can’t get enough of New York Times bestselling author Kathy Reichs and forensic anthropologist, Temperance Brennan. Now Reichs, a producer of Bones, the hit TV drama inspired by her life and work, returns with her 12th novel featuring Tempe and Lieutenant Ryan. There are 206 bones in the adult human body. Tempe knows every one of them. What she doesn’t know is how she wound up unconscious in a small, dark, cold enclosed space. Bound hands to feet, in pain from an injury to her ankle, she begins, slowly, to remember.… Tempe and Ryan had accompanied the recently discovered remains of a missing heiress from Montreal to the Chicago morgue. Suddenly, Tempe is accused of mishandling the autopsy and the case; someone has made an incriminating phone call. Within hours, the one man with information about the call is dead, and Tempe is left, literally, in the dark. Who wants Tempe dead—or at least out of the way—and why? Seamlessly weaving between the case of the heiress and a new investigation that may or may not be related, Reichs intensifies the chemistry between Tempe and Ryan while delivering one of her tightest, most twisted mysteries yet.

I read the book and thought it was not as interesting as the previous one she wrote. The question of why Tempest was kidnapped and put in the dark basement. It was never explained as to why. That left the story hanging with no real ending.

I read the book and thought it was not one of her best, but I will continue to read any other books she will write. I still could not figure out why she was kidnapped.

I don't think this was her best book - but it was still very enjoyable. I agree with some of the other reviewers about her and Ryan. Make a decision already! I'll still get her next book.
