A Suitable Job for a Woman

Get three by “the greatest living mystery writer” (People) in one exciting volume!

In Cover Her Face, a beautiful, headstrong young housemaid is found murdered, and coolly brilliant detective Adam Dalgliesh is on the case to find the killer among a house full of her enemies.

In A Mind to Murder, Adam returns to track down which of the clients or staff of the head of a psychiatric hospital would have planted a chisel into her icy heart.

And in An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, meet courageous yet vulnerable young detective Cordelia Gray, who's hired to disprove the suspicious “suicide” of a handsome Cambridge graduate.

“The reigning mistress of murder” (TIME) is sure to keep you up all night—and watching your own back!

Exceptional plotting & readability

Have read all 3 books in this volume several times. Adam Dalgliesh mysteries are always well written & enjoyable, tho somewhat slow, but patience is well worth the wait, with surprising endings. My personal PD James favorite is An Unsuitable Job For A Woman, which provides a very unique heroine, who like all of us, put into such a situation, would be unsure, unpredictable, mistake prone, but would search until he/she could resolve a very complicated situation. Recommended.
