Ever listen to politicans prattle on and think they must be speaking Greek? In a way, they are! Much of the political doublespeak and duplicity you hear today—from Bill Clinton's "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is" to Don Rumsfeld's "The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence"—employs logical fallacies that the ancients catalogued and critiqued.
Tackling leaders from Genghis Khan to Condoleezza Rice, Aristotle and an Aardvark Go to Washington is an incisive, hilarious guide to specific techniques politicians use to defy logic and obscure the truth. Through demonstrations that draw from comedy and philosophy alike, you'll learn how to recognize all the linguistic tricks our officials pull—until now, at least!

I loved Plato and Platypus, this book is not nearly as good. It is not as funny and a bit flat. Still, the authors have some good insights into politicians' linguistic legerdemain, and some funny stories to share.
