The book is a mish-mash of superstitions and other cultural beliefs thrown in.A lot of Christian overtones. Not a Wiccan or pagan book.Written in the early 1970's,during the Vampire film craze.During 1973 alone, over a hundred and twenty films dealing with vampires were released, around the world. This book has little to say about 'Vampyres',the gothic painting on the cover is what caught my attention.

I am ordering this book because its got to be good if it offended a nitwit nit picker. Jeez, give up reading if you're that persnickety.

I thought this book would have superstition stories and tales but its more like a dream dictionary.

This book is exactly what you think its going to be. Keywords with definitions as to the different superstisions related to those words. Nothing more, nothing less. There are tons of things you might learn.

Back then, anyone not white was colored. To "update" to a more PC "black" would alter the meaning. And the author didn't say it was considered a bad thing, only that it would BE. Some might consider it lucky. Dropping a spoon meant company coming soon, and no one says that's a bad thing!
