A great novel
May 28, 2009

Gone With the Wind has always been a favorite of mine. It is a story of not just romance between people but a story of the romance of the patriotism of the people and their country, their very way of life. The ending of that lifestyle and the birth of a new lifestyle.

Couldn't put it down!

This was probably one of the best books I have ever read. I saw the movie, but the book far surpasses that. I'm sure that I will be re-reading this book.

A MUST READ
August 05, 2008

I'm 28 years old and have read this book once EVERY year since I was 13! I have 4 copies in paperback. And an original first edition in hardback. And will probably buy another copy when I find one.

Biggest Fan
June 03, 2008

I own 3 copies of GWTW, 2 of Scarlett, and I just received a copy of Rhett Butler's People. I also own VHS & DVDs of GWTW and Scarlett. This is the best novel, movie, STORY ever created. Every woman has a hint of Scarlett O'Hara hidden within her and every man has a bit of Rhett Butler. Amazing.

ROMANCE FOR MEN!
April 27, 2008

Even men will like this book-it is as much a historical novel of the Civil War as it is a romance. It's basically the story of how the war obliterated the society of the Old South and created the society of the New South. Having lived in Charleston SC, I experienced how the war still haunts Southern culture.
