Superstar detective Dave Gurney is still trying to adjust to a life of semi-retirement when trouble knocks on his door. A young filmmaker wants to ask Gurney about The Good Shepherd, a notorious serial killer who has never been caught. Soon afterwards, a series of near-death “accidents” rattles Gurney, leading him to believe that the once-dormant killer is back and the only way to catch him is to make himself the next target.

I just discovered this author not too long ago and have read all his books. This one, like the others, kept my interest until the end. In fact I didn't want it to end. The Dave Gurney character is someone you can relate to. Looking forward to more books by this author.

Good story - much too long

The basic story was really good and kept you reading for the entire 450 pages. But he dragged it out sooooo l o n g!! Why not shorten it a little. I did find myself dozing off at times while reading the book. Even with the dozing I wanted to finish it to see how it ended. I wasn't really thrilled by the ending either. Too many "things" added to the guilty character. The little voice box, the tracers on the cars, etc. Don't think I will buy another of his books.

Wow! I could not put this one down, thought his last two books were great, this is even better! Excellent character, love Dave Gurney and his family. What a book, kind of spoils you though. So well written, never expected the ending, but perfect, really makes you have to think. Hope there will be another Dave Gurney novel in the future, I will be waiting patiently I hope, but the second I see your name I will automatically hit the order button.
