Afterlives of the Rich and Famous

Introduction
This book is about current events in the lives of celebrities who’ve passed away, as reported by a “resident expert” on the Other Side whose name is Francine. Two obvious questions probably leap to mind: “Who’s Francine?” and “Since these celebrities are dead, doesn’t that pretty much mean they’re doing nothing?” Believe me, if I didn’t have good answers to those questions, this book wouldn’t exist.
As for the first question, Francine is my Spirit Guide. Like your Spirit Guide and everyone else’s, she’s been with me all my life. You’ll find a complete definition of Spirit Guides and what they do for us in the glossary, so for now I’ll just tell you about her.
I was born psychic, with an inherited ability to “tune in” to the spirit world of the Other Side. At first, starting when I was five years old, I was only clairvoyant—that is, able to see spirits (and I wasn’t exactly thrilled about it, believe me). But then one night when I was eight, I discovered with an equal lack of glee that I was also clairaudient, or able to hear spirits, as well, when a chirpy, high-pitched voice came crashing into my bedroom and announced, “Don’t be afraid, Sylvia. I come from God.”
My beloved, brilliantly psychic Grandmother Ada explained, after prying her terrified granddaughter from around her legs, that the voice was simply my Spirit Guide introducing herself, that we all have Spirit Guides, and that they’re around to gently help us navigate our way through these brief trips away from Home. And so, tentatively at first, I began communicating with Francine. Throughout our sixty-five years together she’s never lied to me, never betrayed me, and never steered me wrong (I took care of that on my own). She’s also been a fascinating, invaluable source of volumes of information about the afterlife.
It’s a requirement of all Spirit Guides that they’ve incarnated— otherwise, our problems, worries, and missteps on earth would be incomprehensibly trivial to them, living as they do in the blissful perfection of the Other Side and seeing everything that happens through the perspective of eternity. Francine (who introduced herself as Ilena, which I apparently didn’t like and promptly changed to Francine) only chose to incarnate once, as an Aztec-Incan woman who died at the age of nineteen, in 1520, saving her infant daughter from a spear during the Spanish invasion of Colombia. She’s accompanying me through this lifetime as a result of a mutual agreement we made at Home, before I decided to come to earth again for the fifty-secondth and last time.

Sylvia is a true blessing!
April 27, 2012

It really upsets me all of you out there slamming Sylvia for the blessing that she has so generously shared with the whole world. I know that every word that comes out of her mouth and that which is written in her books is nothing more or less than the absolute truth. Sylvia had done personal readings for an aunt of mine (whom is no longer with us) on several occasions many years ago. My aunt use to tell us all about the readings and how right on Sylvia was. She brought great comfort to my aunt and gave her peace where there use to be so much uncertainty. I love Sylvia's books and I use to watch her when she was on Montel (another wonderful human being) . For those of you that don't believe and think Sylvia is a fraud shame on you! I am a HUGE believer in karma and I guarantee you it will not be Sylvia having to redeem her self. Just the fact that those of you claiming to be believers of karma had no problem being so hostel on your reviews shows how much you truly believe in karma. Just remember when karma comes back around it comes back two fold. As for me, I would like to say that if you have never read any of Sylvia's books you are in for a real treat. Sylvia is wonderful and I have found such peace in regards to what happen to us when we cross over. It brings me joy knowing I will see those who have gone before me.

okay but not exciting
October 16, 2011

i read this book a few weeks ago. it was okay. but like all her other books, she rehash the same story of how she began and found her gift in each book. so when i got yet another book with the same reshashing, i felt like i have been spending money on the same book but with different titles. i don't doubt for one minute that we keep going on after we leave this earth but some of the stories that she and her guide francine tell about these celebrities seem a little too much. i wonder will her next prediction book be the same as all the rest. that is if she comes out with one.

Better than I thought
July 04, 2011

I actually thought the book was going to be silly but it was much better than I thought it would be. From the time I was very young (having lived a somewhat sad childhood) I would sit alone under a starry sky and ask "why did I come back here" and begging to go home. I always felt there was something that would "cocoon" me and take all the ugliness away. That was 50 years ago and I still feel that way. I don't believe we all just go float on clouds or something. Life there seems very much like here except for the need for material things. Sylvia seems to be telling us that most of these celeberties live in small houses and continue doing what they love. Many are still being challenged. I don't see any fantasy involved at all.
